I love to find articles, studies, stories, etc. that reinforce my position. Don’t we all? Did you hear about The Conference Board’s February 2005 report entitled, “Take This Job and . . .”? They found that in the last 10 years American who say they are satisfied with their job has slipped almost 10% to 50% and only 14% who say they are very satisfied. That means that there are a lot of unhappy people out there. What was even more disturbing was that the largest decline in overall job satisfaction occurred among workers 35-44. This is scary news, both for unhappy individuals who will spend about a third of their life at work and for employers who have to contend with all that discontent. I will have more to say about these findings.
Hey! I'm unhappy some days and happy other days - what does that make me? Seriously, I think I need a new career but am too afraid to look....
